Kelleigh W.Y. Poon de Rubio  潘慧儀

Kelleigh was awarded a Master’s degree with distinction in Flamencología (Flamencology) by Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) (Catalonia School of Music, Spain) in 2021, being the only graduate from Asia since the inception of the programme. Her Master's thesis focused on the learning of cante flamenco (flamenco singing).  Prior to that she has received a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Translation from the Hong Kong Polytechnics University and the University of Warwick (U.K.) respectively.  She started learning Spanish language in 2006 at Escuela Carmen de las Cuevas in Granada (Spain), and obtained the Certificate in Spanish (Advanced) at SPACE of the University of Hong Kong.  Kelleigh speaks Spanish with competence, apart from being fluent in Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) and English.  Kelleigh began learning flamenco dance in 2005, and has taken regular flamenco dance classes for years and performed flamenco dance in a number of events. 
 
With respect to flamenco singing, for years Kelleigh has been regularly learning from Spanish professional flamenco singers by taking weekly online private lessons: since early 2020 from Jeromo Segura (until present), as well as from Maria José Pérez Rodríguez (vocal technique, until end-2021), both renowned and award-winning professional flamenco singers in Spain. Prior to that, for a duration of four years since early 2015 she learnt from Karina Feal Silva, a professional flamenco singer in Sevilla (Spain) and has been doing annual trips to Sevilla for intensive practice of flamenco singing technique.  In Sevilla she has participated by singing in “tertulias flamencas” (flamenco jam sessions) at different flamenco peñas. Since 2016, she has regularly performed flamenco singing as a solo and as accompaniment for dancers in Hong Kong, and had her solo recitals in Spain at two flamenco peñas.  She has also sung as live accompanist in various flamenco dance workshops conducted by renowned and award-winning professional flamenco dance maestros from Spain in Hong Kong.  Apart from flamenco singing performance, Kelleigh has participated as guest speaker to introduce the characteristics and history of flamenco in the music performance at Tai Kwun, and in three lecture demonstrations respectively organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Government of Hong Kong, the Young Friends of Hong Kong Arts Festival, as well as the Hong Kong Metropolitan University.

 
In Spain, Kelleigh had her solo recitals at:

• Peña Flamenca La Orden on 13 August 2022 and the Peña Cultural Flamenca de Almonte on 25 August 2023 respectively, both emblematic peñas in Huelva (Andalusia), accompanied by flamenco guitarist Israel Torres and the flamenco singing maestro Jeromo Segura and with clapping by Josué Segura. The solo recital at Peña Cultural Flamenca de Almonte was covered by Doñana Comunicación (a local public television channel of Almonte) and publicised by Almonte City Council

• a private performance in Herencia (Ciudad Real) on 20 August 2023, accompanied by flamenco guitarist Andrés Sánchez

 
In Hong Kong, she has regularly performed flamenco singing as a solo and as accompaniment for dancers in:

• “World Music” Series: “A Cultural Journey through World Music” Lecture Demonstration (Spanish Flamenco Music) organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) of the Government of Hong Kong on 28 June 2023 at Lecture Hall, Hong Kong Space Museum, as speaker (in Cantonese) to introduce the characteristics and history of flamenco music and also as flamenco singer in demonstration

• “Dismantle Flamenco” Lecture Demonstration organised by the Young Friends of Hong Kong Arts Festival in collaboration with the Department of Cultural and Creative Arts of The Education University of Hong Kong (EduHK) on 27 November 2023 at Performing Hall of EduHK, as speaker (in Cantonese) to introduce the characteristics and history of flamenco music and dance and also as flamenco singer in demonstration

• "Afternoon Series" at Tai Kwun (flamenco music performance) on 24 April, 1 May and 15 May 2019

於2021年獲西班牙加泰隆尼亞音樂學院（Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC)）頒授Flamencología《佛朗明哥研究》一等榮譽碩士學位，為該碩士課程歷來唯一來自亞洲的畢業生。碩士畢業論文集中研究cante flamenco （佛朗明哥歌唱）的學習。在此之前曾獲香港理工大學頒授翻譯學士學位，以及英國華威大學翻譯碩士學位。早於2006年在西班牙格拉納達Escuela Carmen de las Cuevas開始研習西班牙語，並其後獲香港大學專業進修學院頒發西班牙語高級證書。除擁有良好程度的西班牙語外，還能操流利中文（廣東話和普通話）及英語。2005年開始學習佛蘭明高舞蹈，多年來恆常參與佛蘭明高舞蹈課程，曾在多個演出中表演佛蘭明高舞蹈。

在佛蘭明高歌唱方面，多年來一直與西班牙專業佛蘭明高歌手以網上私教週課形式恆常學習。自2020年初師從Jeromo Segura（至今），以及Maria José Pérez Rodríguez（發聲技巧，至2021年底），兩位均為西班牙著名得獎專業佛蘭明高歌手。在此之前，自2015年初為期四年，師從西班牙塞維利亞專業佛蘭明高歌手Karina Feal Silva，以及每年到塞維利亞密集式練習佛蘭明高歌唱技巧。在塞維利亞曾參與不同佛蘭明高小酒館的 “tertulias flamencas”（佛蘭明高樂手即興聚會）即席唱歌。2016年起，恆常以獨唱及/或為舞者現場伴唱形式，參與許多本地表演，以及在西班牙兩個佛蘭明高同好會作個人演唱。另外，又為西班牙多位著名得獎專業佛蘭明高舞蹈家來香港舉辦的佛蘭明高舞蹈工作坊，擔任現場伴唱。除歌唱表演外，亦曾於大館舉行的音樂表演，以及分別由康樂及文化事務署、香港藝術節青少年之友，及香港都會大學舉辦的三個示範講座中，以講者身份介紹佛蘭明高的特色及其歷史。

在西班牙的個人演唱有：

• 分別於2022年8月13日在Peña Flamenca La Orden，以及於2023年8月25日在Peña Cultural Flamenca de Almonte，兩者均為韋爾瓦（安達盧西亞）具象徵性的佛蘭明高同好會，與佛蘭明高結他手Israel Torres、佛蘭明高歌唱大師Jeromo Segura及撃掌手Josué Segura同台演出。於Peña Cultural Flamenca de Almonte的個人演唱會獲Doñana Comunicación（阿爾蒙特(Almonte)當地公共電視頻道）報導，以及由阿爾蒙特市議會宣傳。

• 於2023年8月20日在埃倫西亞（雷阿爾城）的私人表演，與佛蘭明高結他手Andrés Sánchez演出。

 

在香港恆常以獨唱及/或為舞者現場伴唱參與的表演有：

• 由香港政府之康樂及文化事務署舉辦的「世界音樂」系列：「跨越文化的世界音樂之旅」示範講座﹙西班牙佛蘭明高音樂﹚中，作為介紹佛蘭明高音樂的特色及其歷史的講者(粵語)，及以佛蘭明高歌手示範，於2023年6月28日在香港太空館演講廳舉行

• 由香港藝術節青少年之友﹙與香港教育大學文化與創意藝術學系合作﹚舉辦的「解構佛蘭明高」示範講座中，作為介紹佛蘭明高音樂和舞蹈的特色及其歷史的講者(粵語)，及以佛蘭明高歌手示範，於2023年11月27日在香港教育大學演講廳舉行

• 在大館舉行的「午間表演」﹙佛蘭明高音樂表演﹚，日期為2019年4月24日、5月1日及5月15日
